Well so much has happened that I have not been posting about. My dear husband was diagnosed with Brain Cancer stage 4 back on July 30th 2010. It has been a busy half year taking care of him and trying to help him heal from the cancer. I have not spent much time completing layouts but I did do a few last weekend that I thought I would share. My son and I spent last Saturday in our scrap room in the basement creating these for a contest at our local scrapbooking store - Urban Scrapbooker in Edmonds, Wa. The contest was to make some items using at least 75% of the kit. I only had a few hours to produce my items and ended up making two 12x12 layouts and a card from the kit of Cosmo Cricket - Circa 1934 products.
Here are some pics:
This LO is of a picture from Christmas Eve 2010 in front of our tree and is the only family photo I got this year at Christmas time. I love that we were all laughing and having fun and the out-takes of this photo session are hilarious and will probably be added to another layout because they are so funny. I made the flower by cutting around some of the images in the patterned paper and also handcut the leaves and then crumpled and inked them to give them some texture. The layout title is: "Each Day is a Gift! Which is our family motto this year! Here are some additional photos:
This layout is of my sister Diana with my son. It was taken in October right before halloween and she was giving him butterfly hugs so I titled the LO that way.
Well hopefully I will take time to make a few more pages this year...that will be my new years resolution.
Happy 2011! My word for the year is "HOPE" - I am holding hope high for total healing of my husband Stuart! He is a fighter and I know he can do it!!!!
