Happy Anniversary Honey!

This is my latest page of my husband and I.  We just celebrated our 10 year Anniversary and I wanted to complete a page about us.  I liked a page that Julie Fei-Fan Balzer had done with a button heart in one of my magazines a while back and I thought to do so on this page when I found a bag full of old cream buttons at the thrift store one night while we were searching for halloween costume items for my son Tim's costume.  I like the way this page turned out.  Happy Anniversary my sweet man!  I love you soooo much!

Here are a couple more pictures of this page:

Until next time - happy scrapping!  Create some fun each day and then tell your stories in a scrapbook page!

Sweet Summer Days!

Summer time sipping!

Ahhh...just laying back and letting the spray hit my feet on a hot day!

We are all just lovin' these sweet summer days that are passing by so quickly. On Saturday we go to our first Kindergarten playdate at our son's school. We are looking forward to meeting other families that he will be in school with this year. In the meantime we are soaking up the sun and enjoying these long summer days of swimming, playing and gardening. These summer days seem to just keep slip slidin away.....Fun! Fun! Fun!

Card - "Red Lead" style!

I am always inspired by "Red Lead" artwork and stamps! (If you aren't familiar with their company go to http://www.redleadpaperworks.com ) I just received this stamp and made this card for my girlfriends birthday. You can't see it very well in the picture but I "iced" the cake with some diamond stickles and added some yellow stickles for the candle flames. It turned out so cute! Red Lead has such awesome stamps and paper and charms and....well you get the idea! I always enjoy creating with their awesome products! Plus it is a great way to use up my paper scraps from scrapbooking 12x12 pages! : ) Jill

Graduation Day for Lauren!

My beautiful niece Lauren just graduated from High School this past June! I am so proud of all of her accomplishments and excited for her as she heads off to college. She has a bright future ahead of her and I know she will go far! Here is a page I did as a gift to her. I framed it in a shadow-box and gave it to her so she would always remember this special day! She was so excited to receive it from me and said she was going to hang it up in her room! I am so glad I was able to do something special for her!!!

The funny things Timmy says...

This page is based on something my son said to me while outside in our backyard playing with his squirt gun. He started using it to aim at the plants and said "Look Mom, it's my squirt-gun watering can!".

Speaking of things that Timmy says....I have to write this one down....last night as I was walking downstairs with some wet towels from swimming at Grandma's house I noticed a red mark on the wall from one of my scrapbooking pens. Timmy had been playing with my red marker early that morning and I had asked him to go down and put it back on my scrap table when he was done. I am guessing that the large white wall on the way down to the basement was just too much of a lure for him to pass up and he decided to take the pen out for a little spin on his way to return it to my desk.

I called up the stairs to him and asked him to come down. I pointed to the red mark on the wall and asked him if he had used my marker to make it. He looked at me and I could literally see the wheels turning in his head as he decided how to answer. A few seconds later his answer was that it wasn't him that did it but a ghost. I responded that we have a ghost huh? And he said it wasn't just any ghost but a "Holy Ghost". Now you have to understand that we had been in church on sunday a couple weeks before this and everyone was wearing red to show love for the Holy Spirit and Pentecost Sunday. So Timmy made the connection that the red marker used on the wall was made not just by a regular ghost but by a "Holy Ghost"! Too cute! I told him that neither ghosts nor little boys should ever write on walls anymore. And then of course I had to go and call my Mom and tell her the story so that we could have a good lil chuckle! Out of the mouths of babes...or six year old boys!

My very first post on this blog...

Today I decided to set up a blog to record my art - cards I make, photos I take, scrapbook pages that I have made over the years. I have been taking pictures and making scrapbooks since I was very young. I have always loved photography - especially capturing that one instant on someone's face where their true beauty is shining through for the world to see. It is like magic and as long as you have that picture you have that moment to look back on visually!

The page above was created with some photos taken by my husband at SeaFair in Seattle, Washington when he and our son went to see the Blue Angels perform. I love the way my son's hand is reaching towards the sky and the planes flying overhead! This page always makes me smile and relive the magic of seeing the Blue Angels perform! They are truly spectacular!
